Brooklyn, NY. - Nov. 19, 2007 (CADILLAC FILMS LLC) — Three years since principal photography began with a mere $20,000 budget, the highly-anticipated Williamsburg Collector’s Edition DVD is now available on-line and at NYC Retailers after a warm reception on the festival circuit and a month-long screening residency at Galapagos Art Space in June 2007. Brad Saville’s first picture takes place in Williamsburg, Brooklyn: the hip, upstart, intellectual Mecca of New York City, the land where people would rather be artists than make art. Williamsburg is a voyeuristic picture about seven ‘artists’ living in the eclectic Brooklyn neighborhood and their comical, usually absurd, intertwining lives.
The Collector’s Edition DVD has special features: audio commentary with Writer/Director Brad Saville and film critic John Lingan of Splicetoday.com; Deleted Scenes; and Behind-the-Scenes footage.
The picture has an up-and-coming, NYC-ensemble cast from both Off-Broadway and the Independent Screen: Penny Bittone, David Marcus, Russ Russo, Olja Hrustic, Anna Lamadrid, Jeff Roll, and Evertz Saenz-Perez. It was written and directed by Brad Saville.
Brad Saville is a novelist, playwright, and filmmaker. His novel Grotesque was published when he was 23. His plays Jism, Mint Julep, Gregor, Love’s a Bitch, Crazy, The Brothers Slaughter, Two Rooms in Davis, Monkey Trick, and Yermo Blues have been produced on stages throughout New York City. He serves as resident playwright and Managing Director of Eastwind Theatre Company. Brad also directed and produced the picture, A Night with Mark Murphy, a gritty look at the Grammy-Nominated Vocalist performing at the Iridium Jazz Club in NYC. Williamsburg is his first picture.
